Beer

Beer and it's benefits...For hundreds of years people have enjoyed beer for its taste, its refreshment, its gladdening effect, and even its health benefits. Throughout history beer was certainly safer to drink than most available water in Europe. From the Middle Ages right through to the Industrial Revolution beer provided nutrients and vitamins as well as pleasure" to the diets of men and women of all walks of life. Its simple available ingredients of grain, yeast, water and sometimes hops, beer covered all levels of social economic rank from kings to peasants...

The health benefits of moderate beer consumption are being demonstrated time
and again in countless studies around the world.

  •     Moderate beer drinking decreases the risk of high blood pressure and associated with lower cholesterol levels.
  •     Beer helps to reduce the chance of heart attack,
  •     Beer decreases risk of coronary heart disease.
  •     It also increases levels of "'good' cholesterol, which is a protective form of blood fat."
  •     Moderate drinkers tend to have lower levels of fibrinogen, a protein that promotes blood clots.
  •     It is helpful for "improving memory, problem solving, and reasoning ability."
  •     Moderate drinking "is associated with fewer brain lesions and so-called silent strokes."
  •     Reduces the risk of kidney stones as long as other water-based liquids are consumed  as well.
  •     Drinking beer helps to improve the circulation of blood in the brain.
  •     It aids in reduction of the risks of "mental impairment” later in life.
  •     And finally, drinking beer lowers stress levels.

So remember, drink beer for good health. It could be just what the doctor ordered!
